The Ranch is home to our small herd of Highland cattle. The cattle contribute much to the compost we use in Wentworth Vineyard. They also enhance day-to-day operations at the Ranch by virtue of their expressive nature and undeniable aesthetic value. Highlanders are resilient foragers and therefore utilize vegetation that other breeds would overlook – a trait that is particularly useful during the dry California summer months when new growth is scarce.
We produce a small amount of delicious USDA certified beef each year thanks to help from Roundman’s Smoke House and Marin Sun Farms.
