Abel Vineyard

Abel is an excellent late-ripening Deep End Anderson Valley site which, perfectly compliments our other coastally-influenced, cool-climate vineyards.

Originally planted in 1997, we have been proud to steward this special site since 2023. Located just 10.5 miles from the Pacific Ocean, Abel is home to diverse Pinot Noir massal selections spread across 11 planted acres, many of which trace their biological origins to world-renowned historic Grand Cru vineyards in Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits. In addition to Wentworth Vineyards, Abel has been a vineyard designate source for several well-known California producers.

We plan to plant Chardonnay at Abel over the next few years and continue to sell a portion of the grapes from the site to select producers for production of vineyard designate bottlings.
